ENDESA RED - UPC
Mission of the Chair
The Endesa Red - UPC Chair in Energy Innovation, created in April 2005, focuses its activity on training, research, the transfer of results and scientific dissemination in the field of energy innovation in the electricity sector, with the aim of achieving an efficient and sustainable energy evolution model. Along these lines, the Chair works to achieve technological and social excellence in Endesa's electrical energy distribution system and to involve the Administration, researchers, customers, suppliers and, ultimately, all the social agents involved, in the creation of a model of relationship between the electricity distribution system, the territory and society.
Objectives of the chair
The general objectives of the CERIEN in the period 2023 - 2025 are:
- To encourage action between the university and the company in the field of energy innovation in the electricity sector
- Realization of research projects
- Organization of conferences, seminars and conferences on electrical energy
- Training and motivation of students through scholarships
Activities of the chair
The work plan of the Chair for its first year includes the realization of reports and studies, and the organization of conferences, seminars and conferences on electrical energy. Likewise, it foresees the permanent training of professionals, and the implementation of actions aimed at both training and student motivation, for example, the awarding of a prize for the best final degree thesis presented at the school. An important part of the work plan is focused on R+D+I by carrying out projects in close collaboration with the Center for Technological Innovation in Static Converters and Drives (CITCEA), also of the UPC.
The activities planned for 2024 are:
- Central topic research project
- Training of scholarship holders and PhD students
- Scientific dissemination activity: Energy Innovation Day
- Publication of a scientific article (e.g. CIRED, dissemination journal)
- Web page
- Awards (assistance for the enrollment of master's students with a vocation in the electrical sector)
