Accelerating the Deployment of Offshore wind using DC technology (ADOreD)
Project description
The overall objective of the research is to develop the most appropriate models and methods to develop a coordinated approach to offshore renewable connections to meet the net-zero target. The research allows technology innovations in these areas to improve the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of the existing technique and remove technical barriers to apply the emerging control concept in the future interconnected offshore grid. The research outcomes will lead to a wide range of social and techno-economic benefits complementing key skill across planning, designing, constructing, controlling, developing, testing, commissioning and operating offshore and HVDC projects.
